Cape 18 Ideas, Ideas, & More Ideas

The Birkman is a personality, type indicator that many Junior League's use to provide leadership training to its members.  As a Junior League member I've worked with a Birkman trainer several times.  One thing I've learned about myself is that I make big, important decisions fairly quickly (changing jobs, buying a house or a car, etc.) and take a longer time to make every day decisions (picking out towels, paint colours, etc.), which helps to explain why my house is on massive, half-decorated project.

So let's play this game, if an interior decorator had a gun to my head (I assume it would be a glue gun) here is what I would do...

In the Kitchen: White paint, red and black cushons, black or (dream) marble counters.

 

Second Floor: White ceilings, walls, and floors.

Many other decisions have been held up by the Great Living / Dining Debate Colour Debate of 2011! Many thanks to everyone who weighed in.

The votes have been tallies, the hanging chads analized, and the final answer is in.

[drumroll please]

Answer: RED! Better yet, the colour is Martha Stewart's Maine Lobster. How could it not win?

While spending valuable time searching for houses that I can't afford, in a city I don't live in, I stumbled across this fantastic living room.

1st Floor Question of the Day: Floor colour

Ahh, the floor subject rears its ugly head again.

So I absolutely want to install white wood floors on the 2nd floor of Cape 18.


And the stairs will be white too.  Runner or no runner is still TBD.


Should the 1st floor floors be:

A.  white

Bathroom Update

Shock of shocks, I finally painted the bathroom ceiling!  And even better, ya know how the color of my ceiling fan cover was driving me bats?  I spray painted it white.

I did buy a glass shelf and window blinds at Lowe's.  So sorry backyard neighbors, the show is over!

New Bedding at Cape 18

Thanks to a recent Pottery Barn Sale, I have new bedding!

Even better, the pattern is a collage made from paint chips. It is so cheerful, I don't want to climb out of bed.
Next up, white wood floors!
